Refund policy
This page explains how canceling and refunds work for Box Seat, ShelfLife's optional paid membership. ShelfLife itself is free, so none of this applies unless you buy Box Seat. Section 11 of our Terms of Service is the full agreement and governs if the two ever differ.
Who sells Box Seat
- In the iPhone and iPad app, Apple sells Box Seat through the App Store.
- In the Android app, Google sells it through Google Play.
- On the ShelfLife website, once it is sold there, our reseller Paddle sells it. Paddle is the merchant of record for those orders: it takes the payment, charges any tax, and sends your receipts.
Canceling
You can cancel at any time. Canceling stops the next renewal, and you keep Box Seat until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- App Store: cancel in your Apple account's subscription settings.
- Google Play: cancel in your Google Play subscriptions.
- Website: open Membership in ShelfLife and choose Manage billing, which takes you to Paddle's customer portal.
Withdrawing within 14 days (EU, EEA and UK)
If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw from your Box Seat subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, and get a refund. The same applies for 14 days after each annual renewal.
To withdraw, choose Cancel or withdraw in Membership, in the app or on the website, or email us at admins@theshelflifeapp.com with the account you subscribed from.
- App Store: Cancel or withdraw opens Apple's refund request. Apple issues the refund.
- Google Play: it opens your subscription on Google Play. Cancel it there and email us, and we will refund you through Google Play.
- Website: it opens Paddle's customer portal. Withdraw there if the portal offers it, or email us, and you will be refunded.
Withdrawing also ends your subscription: Box Seat stops once the refund is made. Drops you have already received stay yours, as the Terms describe under "What you keep".
Other refunds
Apple, Google and Paddle may also offer refunds under their own policies, wherever you live:
Nothing on this page limits the rights your local consumer law gives you.
If we stop offering Box Seat
If we stop selling Box Seat, we will turn off renewals so you are not charged again, and give you as much notice as we reasonably can. A refund for a period you have already paid for is handled by Apple, Google or Paddle under their refund policies.
